The Rhizobium-legume symbioses have received most attention and have been examined extensively. In present study a total of 06 strains were isolated and characterized on the basis of their colony morphology, microscopy and biochemical test. Colonies of bacteria depicting rod shape, pink in colour were considered as putative isolates of Rhizobium. Samples were sub cultured on Selective (YEMA) and differential (CrYEMA) media in order to obtain pure culture. All pure culture of Rhizobium showed same pattern in their morphological identification viz. circular, convex elevation, entire margin and translucent colony formation. In biochemical tests strain S1 was positive in citrate test, triple sugar iron agar test, S2 strain in all biochemical test except catalase, strain S3, S3 R.N, S9 and IARI 2 shows positive for all the tests.
