Impatiens lizipingensis: a new record for India, and I. graciliflora: a new distribution record for Arunachal Pradesh, India

Abstract
During recent floristic explorations in Arunachal Pradesh, two noteworthy species of Impatiens L. (Balsaminaceae) have been documented, thereby extending the known distributional range of the genus. I. lizipingensis Q.Luo, previously known only from China, is recorded here for the first time in India. It can be readily distinguished from its closest allies by the presence of falcate lateral sepals and lateral united petals with triangular basal and lanceolate distal lobes. Additionally, I graciliflora Hook.f. a species with scattered records in Southeast Asia, is reported as a new distributional record for Arunachal Pradesh, India. Both the species were recorded from moist, shaded habitats in montane regions (ca. 1445–2900 m elevation), and voucher specimens have been deposited in ARUN herbarium. Detailed descriptions of their morphological characters are provided. The discovery of these taxa highlights the underexplored biodiversity of the region and emphasizes the need for further botanical investigations in the Eastern Himalayas.
