Faba beans are a well-liked legume food; it is moderately sensitive to salinity. In Egypt, salinity is regarded as a serious issue in need of immediate attention. Salinity especially saline water with sodium chloride has a harmful impact on bean plants. Laser pretreatment can enhance tolerance of plant by enhancing certain morphological and physiological characters. Bean seeds exposed to laser irradiations (LEI) with different periods (0, 4 and 8 min.) under saline water levels (SWL) (0, 50 and 100 mM NaCl). Growth and yield characters were changed with laser exposer intervals with or without Saline water levels. The highest values of shoot length (23.0 cm), branch no. (2.0 plant − 1), leaf no. (32.2 plant − 1), flower no. (20.0 plant − 1), root wt. (2.7 g), shoot wt. (6.9 g), pod length (6.8 cm), seed no. (2.6 pod− 1), pods fresh wt. (4.5 g), seeds fresh weight pod− 1 (2.7 g), pods dry weight (0.9 g) and seeds dry weight pod− 1 (0.7 g) were presented with SWL (0 mM NaCl) x LEI (4 min). While, the highest value of root length (24.0 cm) was recorded with SWL (100 mM NaCl) x LEI (0 min). Furthermore, photosynthetic pigments (chl a, chl b and CAR) were increased with values (23.5, 8.5 and 10.1 mg g− 1) respectively by the treatment of LEI (4 min) without SWL (0 mM NaCl). The maximum amount of superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD) (8.8 Unit/ g FW.min) obtained from plants treated with SWL (50 mM NaCl) with LEI (4 min). But, the maximum amount of peroxidase enzyme (POX) (0.4 Unit/ g FW.min) determined with the treatments of SWL (0, 50 mM NaCl) with LEI (4 min) and SWL (50 mM NaCl) with LEI (8 min). Plants treated with SWL (100 mM NaCl) x LEI (0 min) produce the highest amounts of proline (17.6 µmoles/g FW) and total carbohydrates (129.7 mg /100 g DW). He-Ne laser interval effect on genomic template stability percentage by using SCoT marker, the least value of genomic template stability percentage (55.29%) was recorded in SWL (100 mM NaCl) x LEI (8 min). Also, the treatment of SWL (50 mM NaCl) x LEI (4 min) reduced the value of genomic template stability percentage (58.82%), laser irradiation can be suggested to alleviate the bad effect of salinity on faba bean.
