Abstract

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an oilseed crop. It is believed that it was introduced in Ethiopia before half a century and currently widely grown in the country. Introduction of the crop informally from neighboring countries like South Sudan and Eretria, and formally from ICRISAT, India enhanced the gene pool in the country. Peanut has industrial and nutritional benefits to end users.
