Professor S.L. Kothari is the Director, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Rajasthan, Jaipur. Formerly he worked in various capacities as Dean, Faculty of Science and Director, Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT); Professor and Head of Department of Botany and Director, PG School of Life Sciences and Coordinator, PG Course in Biotechnology; Coordinator, UGC-UPE, DST-PURSE, DBT-IPLS Programs, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Prof Kothari obtained his Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan in 1984 and is the Fellow, National Academy of Sciences-1997; Fellow, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences-2008; Fellow, Indian Botanical Society-1992; Fulbright Scholar, University of Illinois, USA, 1983-1984 besides extremely prestigious recognitions globally.
Prof Kothari supervised 42 Ph.Ds and published more than 140 research paper in impact factor Journals besides 15 book chapters. He completed 18 research projects and was conferred Nahar Samman Award, Rajasthani Welfare Association, Mumbai in 1997.
Prof Kothari served in various administrative positions and was the Coordinator of PURSE scheme of DST, 2008-2011; DBT-UR-IPLS Scheme, 2010 and the UGC, DRS-Phase-I, 2009-14.
