Dr. Swati Saha


Dr (Mrs) Swati Saha is a Senior Scientist with specialization in Olericulture. She obtained her M.Sc. degree from G B Pant University of Agriculture &Technology, Pantnagar and Ph.D. from IARI, New Delhi. She joined as Scientist in 2004 and has published more than 20 papers in peer reviewed journals.
Dr Saha developed Hybrid Pusa Vasuda, the first public sector tropical carrot with high carotenoids lycopene and TSS which was released by Delhi State Seed Subcommittee. She developed Lettuce mosaic virus polyprotein gene, partial cds and reported Lettuce mosaic virus infecting Lactuca sativa in India for the first time.
Dr Swati was conferred Fellow of Confederation of Horticulture Association of India, Women Scientist Award in 2019 by Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture and Technology and the Young Scientist Award (Agriculture) in 2019 by Society for Plant Research at Mumbai.
